I'm having a hard time figuring out the target audience for this novella. The writing and characters come across as immature, but the hero is 35 years old. You get to learn about his erectile dysfunction, his problems with perma-boners and the fact that he is so introverted he doesn't even like shaking hands. I began to wonder if Mitch was on the autism spectrum, when he suddenly morphed into Mr. Feelings. Having sex with your best friend's boyfriend the day the two of them officially break up is hardly romantic. All of a sudden Mr. Rebound is the catch of the century.As for the romance, meh....
"He felt something stir inside him. Okay, it wasn’t exactly inside him. It was outside. It was his peni$." Thank you Captain Obvious. This must be romance for dummies.
As for the reference to the desiccated kitten, that was a first and I hope, last.

Short, sweet and hot!!
great follow on story, but need to read Wild to make sense
Good story, enjoyed it. Keeping it for a reread in the future.
A fast paced read and enjoyable. Two mismatched people come together after a devastating earthquake. Her best friend's ex and she have more in common than they ever did.
While taking an online class sponsored by the Romance Writers of America, the instructor was someone I was only vaguely familiar, Jill Sorenson. As with any class or workshop I take, thanks to the my son Jason sent me for my birthday a couple of years ago, I look up the author/presenter and read some of their books.
Jill Sorenson’s 2014 novella “Wild for Him” is a great love story of the unexpected kind. When life throws you into the aftermath of a natural disaster, what will you do? Gwen Tagaloa, a tattoo artist volunteers to help her neighbors in the aftermath of an earthquake. When her best friend’s estranged boyfriend contacts her because he can’t reach Helena, she never expected him to show up at the evacuation center.
Thrown together to help survivors, Mitch and Gwen work side by side and the friendship that began with their relationship with Helena develops into a mutual attraction. Only their honor and loyalty to Helena keep them from acting on their feelings. When Mitch’s relationship with Helena changes can he be the man Gwen needs him to be? Can they overcome the obstacles keeping them apart to have a real relationship?
This romantic rebound is a great example of yin and yang, the balance of opposites attracting and what makes a very hot and spicy love story.
A cute, quick story about Helen's ex boyfriend Mitch and her best friend Gwen (both mentioned in book 1 "Wild"). Its their side of the story about the earthquake and the aftermath. I had thought Mitch sounded like a bit of a dud in "Wild" but he turned out to be not so bad. A nice addition to the "Aftershock" and "Wild" series.
The last two books in the Aftershock series contain a couple that had been estranged and no longer even living in the same state. In Wild the woman Helena Fjord is a zookeeper that gets trapped inside San Diego’s Wildlife Park with deadly animals set loose after the earthquake. Her story was with security officer Josh Garrison. At the end of Wild we got to meet her estranged boyfriend Mitch Stone who was not happy with what had happened between Helena and Josh during their harrowing ordeal after the earthquake. Wild for Him takes us back to right after the earthquake happened again but this time with Helena’s best friend Gwen Tagaloe a the main female lead and Mitch as the main male lead. Gwen is a tattoo artist that decides to help at one of the places for the earthquake survivors. She meets up with Mitch when he arrives to try and find Helena. Now I know many don’t like cheating stories but I wouldn’t really call either one of these that. The relationship was over and everyone knew it but Mitch. It was nice getting to see things from a different perspective this time. Most of the stories have been more in the middle of aftermath of the earthquake. This time we got to see those that were helping whether by giving medical help or passing out food and water. During this we saw two people who’d know each other for years start to see the other in a different light but not act on it because of Helena. But once that is out of the way – these two then no longer had a reason to not act on their attraction but still decided to take it slow.
This has been a great series that each book centered on the same disaster but each book was a fresh look as we got a different location and perspective in each book.
